Suspicious Content

Do you know how to verify information you found on social media? Have you ever checked the veracity of what you are sharing?

HKBU Fact Check has been improving our detection process to counter misinformation.

You are welcome to submit any suspicious content to us.

Misinformation and the Pandemic

Misinformation is closely associated with every aspect of people’s daily lives. A study found a fairly large number of citizens considered the problem of fake news as severe. Fact check should be a basic skill for every citizen.

Trending Topics

2021 is a year of pandemic and infodemic. A surge in fake news exploited public fear and uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Tokyo Olympics has also been targeted by misinformation. Citizens should keep alert and actively utilize the fact check service.

Editor's Choice

The patterns of false or misleading information can be identified: confusing the concepts, sharing information in false context, or partially presenting the content.

If the public can recognize these patterns, the misinformation can be easily identified.
